This session with Katie and Casey was one of my favorite types of sessions. Don’t get me wrong, I adore a good ol’ engagement or anniversary session, but the JUST BECAUSE sessions have such a special place in my heart. Two people carving out the time to document their unique love, just because. Investing in themselves, just because. Just because they want their legacy preserved, or because they want to see their love from outside of them, or because they want their babies to look up at the wall and see a piece of mom and dad’s love story celebrated in their home, or just because they feel like it. No matter the reason, I get pretty excited when people book a session just to celebrate their connection, love is so worth celebrating.
“You captured her as I thought only I saw her.”
This is the reason I do this, those words right there, “you captured her as I thought only I saw her.” Capturing for someone something they didn’t think possible to be captured. It’s what it’s all about. I preserve the way love feels, document it in a way that brings it flooding back to you when you look at your images decades from now, I photograph the emotion.
Casey wrote a letter to read to Katie during our session and the photos below tell a piece of that beautiful story. His words to her were so honest, beautiful, and heartfelt, Katie wasn’t the only one tearing up at the end.
