Where do I even begin with this session? These three (four if you count that adorable golden boy) were the absolute sweetest to work with. We photographed the first half of their session in the comfort of their home, the place they’ll always remember bringing their first child home to. For the remainder we ventured out to their land, documenting their love and creating photographs on the field that will one day surround their forever home.
A normal part of my workflow when photographing is to set my couple up in a pose (for instance, “snuggled up here with your backs to the sun soaking up this moment and your sweet baby girl”), and then I’ll step back and photograph the moment as it unfolds while my clients relax into it and soak up the quiet together. Let me tell you, this Dad gave me a glimpse of something so truly heartfelt here. In every pose and every moment, it was truly as if I wasn’t there and he had been waiting all day to adoringly look at his wife and daughter and breathe them in, whispering sweet ‘I love you's’ and laughing amongst themselves, it was beautiful to witness and even more so to document.
What a humbling thing it is to create photographs of a new family that you know will be thumbed through and cherished decades from now by the tiny little human within the images.
